R-21 ENDOMETRITUS + CYSTIC CL

ANIMAL   : CATTLE (CROSS)
AGE           : 6 YEARS

HISTORY:
 Animal presented itself at clinic with a complaint of abortion and inability to concieve.

*The animal aborted 2 times (last trimester)
*The animal gave live birth the 3rd time but the calve died 3 days later.
*Two months after the birth the animal was artificially inseminated afterb observing the heat signs, animal did not become pregnant and came in heat 21 days later.
*Two more AI attempts were made by the owner with no fruitful conception
* The animal estrous cycle appeared to be normal (21-23 days)

ULTRA SOUND EXAMINATION :

ultrasound revealed that the animal suffered from endometritus as indicated by the anechoic fluid in the uterus.

*LEFT OVARY:
small follicles too numerous to count.

*RIGHT OVARY:
typical structure known as cystic corpus luteum observed

CYSTIC CORPUS LUTEUM:
It is normal physiological phenomenon in which the fluid  gets entrape inside the CL. This gives the image that there is hypoechoic fluid in the CL.

RX:

*Give animal 2cc cyclomate
*Give animal some sexual rest.
*Give animal ciprocin 20cc
*Give animal mineral mixture  

ADVICE TO OWNER:
*The owner was advised to come again when the cattle comes in heat again so that we may examine the cattle uterine health improvement.

*The owner was advised to bring the dead fetus after  abortion so that we may process its tissue for microbial examination
