C30 - CL alongwith Dominant follicle [at day 8 post estrus (diestrus)]

Hx:
Buffalo Heifer
Abortion at 2M of pregnancy
Presented on the Heat before 8 days,

U/S:
CL present on the right Ovary with a Dominant follicle measuring 8 mm of size.

Rx:
Inj. Delmazine (PG) 2 mL -IM
and mate naturally or AI on detected Estrus Signs in upcoming 2-3 days

Comments:
the follicular wave patterns can be manipulated at any stage, normally 3 follicular waves are seen in the estrous cycle of the Bovines in the 21 days, In this case as the first heat (due to the dominant follicle of 1st wave) was missed and now, at day 8 of the estrous cycle, the follicle of the 2nd wave has also be dominated alongwith CL of the previous ovulation. So, now PG (delmazine) is injected to cause the luteolysis of the CL and thus the P4 block will be diminished allowing the existing follicle to dominate and exhibit the estrus signs (Due to absence of P4 block and presence of E2 of the follicle), thus the animal may be serviced naturally or with AI to ensure the pregnancy.
+ the animal was not to be waited for next further 13 days and thus the 2nd wave was manipulated to shorten the cycle, lessen the time period (service period) and economize the situation.
