ANIMAL: GOAT

Ultrasound :
_ultrasound revealed that the animal was indeed pregnant,as indicated by the
*presence of fetus presence
*presence of cotyledons
_fetus was presumed to be alive as indicated by its movement
_fetus was presumed to be female as the genital tubercle was at the dorsum caudal to umblicus
CONCLUSION:
Owner was advised to come after 2.5 months during the time of parturation till then the owner was told to take care of animal not to let it stress as goats are more prone to abortion due to enviromental or feeding stress.
POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND
_The accuracy of sex identification among 40 to 60 days is (92.6%), 70 to 90 days (82.5%) and 100 to 120 days (57.7%) respectively. Identification of the GT (germinal tubercle) in male fetuses was possible from day 45 onward. Changes in the GT position were not observed between days 53 and 60 of pregnancy. Accuracy of fetal sexing under field conditions is high in goats when ultrasound imaging is properly timed during pregnancy and when it is performed with proper equipment by experienced operators.
